Harassment law issues take place
Who do I talk to about sexual harassment if it is happening at work? What type of lawyer handles wrongful termination and retaliation? If I was being groped and touched in other inappropriate ways at work, who would I call? Can I sue my previous employer for sexual harassment and wrongful termination? For about the last six months, I have been having an ongoing issue at work with another employee. This employee who I am having issues with, is sexually harassing me in a daily basis. The employee constantly goes out of her way to grab my buttocks and call me sexy and handsome which makes me fee very uncomfortable. I told this employee that she needed to stop touching me and calling me names because I found it to be inappropriate and unsettling. Yesterday I went to the human resources department and made a complaint against this employee who has been sexually harassing me. The human resources representative arranged to have a meeting with me, my boss, and the employee who had been harassing me. To my surprise and horror however, in the meeting, I was notified that I as well as the other employee were both being let go from our jobs. Is this legal or is it considered wrongful termination? I am calling SCMC Law to see if they will retain me as a client for retaliation and wrongful termination. When I called, I spoke with sexual harassment lawyers Costa Mesa who is one of the Wrongful Termination Attorneys at the office. She was very knowledgeable of sexual harassment and wrongful termination in the workplace.
